CINEMATIC LANDSCAPES
2012–2018
Cinematic Landscapes grew out of fragments of screenplays written on restaurant napkins or while travelling, hastily scribbled stories that came to life in the landscapes of northern France. Inspired by the light and places of the region, I transformed these scattered notes into cinematic scenes in which the boundary between fiction and reality begins to dissolve.
Vast and ever-changing, the landscapes become characters in their own right, inhabiting these imagined stories. Each photograph stages one of these unfinished narratives, inviting the viewer to journey into a parallel world.
Through Cinematic Landscapes, I explore how a fragment of a screenplay can become a visual and narrative universe, where imagination takes shape in the tangible reality of the landscape.
